There is Only Ever Now - Well of course there is the future, but that is rushing towards us and we see it only when it reaches us, in the present. And yes, there is the past but knowing that, as it streaks away from us, is far from reliable.
So perhaps it is that to know the world and all that is in it we must know what is with us ...right now... in the present. And this we have tried to do in this exhibition with our art. But to create it – to communicate it – is to need someone to receive it, to realise it, to interact with it, completing the process.
So we warmly invite you, the beholder, to join with us in the making of this art, to consider it, to interpret and to experience it for yourself and to talk with us, for art is but a joint enterprise, here in the ‘now’.
- Dr Peter Brickley, 2026
This exhibition is organised by the Red Mud Arts artists’ critique group which meets monthly at Ruth Smith Gallery in North Tawton. We have chosen to present each artist individually for this exhibition to make more clear each person’s own response to the title.
