Very excited to share the first of our MEET THE MAKER events on Sunday 21st April! John Lumgair will be introducing the Kickstarter for his new animated sitcom JAZZ COW and running an animation workshop.

Talk is 6-7pm with interview and drinks afterwards.
Workshop is 2.30-4pm, any ability, feel free to bring e.g.s of own work if you have any.
Both events are FREE @ North Tawton Community Centre on 21/4/24, but please RSVP to redmudarts@gmail.com.

Jazz Cow is an animated sitcom about a cow who reluctantly leads a group of artists, poets and misfits in resisting Dr Popp’s technocratic world of algorithms and fake filters.

Dr Popp wants to get his hand on the artisanal bakers, street vendors, fringe theatre, and second bookshops. He wants to monetise and franchise. And get rid of the old guys playing chess in that tiny park. (Don’t they know there’s an app for that?)

Jazz Cow has two main missions. One is to preserve the good – keep the club at Connie Snots open and out of the hands of Dr Popp. And two, to keep the spirit of Jazz and improv alive including all of the things that the bohemian quarter embodies.

But does it have to be Jazz? Yeah. It does. Jazz is the secret sauce. It’s the magic. It’s the true expression of the independent spirit that is sublime when blended with others.

It’s not the individual vs the collective, but the power of a collective of individuals.
